This week sees the annual CEDIA US Expo in Atlanta, GA. Having made the move from its three-year home in Denver the show promises to be one of the most exciting events on the Custom Installation calendar and Arcam have chosen the occasion to launch a new AV Receiver and updated iPod Dock.
The AVR500 uses much of the ultra high performance circuitry of the highly successful AVR600 but with a reduced feature set to reflect the trend to predominantly use digital connections in most modern installations. The AVR500 boasts very high performance due to extremely accurate DSP and very low distortion power amplifiers, each rated at 100wpc. Availability of the AVR500 is scheduled for late November. Price information will follow.
Replacing the highly acclaimed rDock, the new irDock adds its own remote handset meaning Arcam’s superlative audio performance can now be coupled with full control of iPods in a much wider number of systems. Where control of iPods was previously restricted to Arcam's own Solo range,T32 tuner and AV Receivers and AV888 pre amp processor, the new irDock, as the name implies, comes with a remote handset and means the irDock can be used and controlled with any good quality audio system. The irDock is scheduled to ship in November.
